The KAPE Story
In 1970, an independent educator's organization was formed to offer teachers in Fayette County an alternative to KEA/NEA. As Professional Educators of Fayette County (PEFCo) grew, Kentucky Association of Professional Educators was formed in 1982 to provide educators statewide with a choice.
The goal has been to promote professional development of educators, and to improve the education of Kentucky children.
Our members have the opportunity to network with and be associated with professionals with similar views, and to acquire an affordable liability insurance coverage.
