I grew up in Pike County, Kentucky and attended Elkhorn City Schools.  After high school graduation, I attended Pikeville College (2 years) then Eastern Kentucky University for my bachelors, masters and rank I degrees.  My certification includes grades 1-12, with English, Reading, and French as my subjects for the upper grades.  In Perry County I taught at Viper Elementary, Dilce Combs High School, Perry Central High School and A.B. Combs Elementary.

Dustin Tuggle-  dustin.tuggle@kentuckyteachers.org

My name is Dustin Tuggle, and I am a teacher at South Laurel High School in London, where I teach Advanced Placement European History, and United States History.  I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in December of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies teaching, and began my career at South Laurel in January 2009.  I am about to complete 8.5 years at South Laurel.

I joined the Kentucky Association of Professional Educators in March 2011, and in August 2011, I took over as the School Representative and District Representative for South Laurel High School and Laurel County, respectively.  In November 2011, I was hired by KAPE as the Regional Representative for Fayette County and in December added Clark, Jessamine, and Woodford counties to my responsibilities as Regional Representative.  In 2014, I also incorporated Lincoln and Garrard Counties into my area.  While working with KAPE, I have gotten to meet many other inspiring and hard working educators, and have spoken at several schools trying to spread the message of KAPE, and to help this organization grow and get the notoriety it deserves.  I have had a good time thus far as both a KAPE member and employee of KAPE and am eager to grow with, along with help grow the Kentucky Association of Professional Educators.  I feel that this organization and the people who are members of it represent the very best in education in Kentucky.

I look forward to helping KAPE achieve its goals and spread its message, and being able to broaden my horizons as an educator and member through getting to meet and work with a great group of people from all over our great state.

Mark Cook- Scott County

I currently serve as a counselor at Scott County Ninth Grade School in Georgetown, KY.  I am the husband to a beautiful wife Karen, who serves as a special education teacher in Fayette County and the father of two amazing children, Jared and Katelyn. After working for 15 years as a youth ministers, I decided to go into public education as a special education teacher and in continuing my education, found a love for counseling.  I enjoy going to the movies, cooking, golf and am an avid UK basketball and football fan.  What I also love is sharing the great news of KAPE in and around Scott County.   When I joined KAPE, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to do more than just become a member.  I wanted to make sure others new about this wonderful organization and I immediately jumped on board as a building representative and quickly followed that by becoming the Scott County district representative.  My goal is to make sure that ALL teachers in Kentucky know that KAPE is an organization that supports, loves and encourages them and who is constantly in Frankfort on their behalf.

Chris Jackson- Clay County
